EMDR

Eye movement desensitisation is a psychotherapy approach which enables people tp “move on” or to “process” stuck traumatic memories or feelings. EMDR is good for treating trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. It is a NICE recommended treatment and is a short term therapeutic approach.

Systemic Psychotherapy

Is a unique type of psychotherapy that is not widely available outside of NHS services. It focuses on the context of our relationships, the dynamics and patterns of our interactions, particularly those we feel to be difficult. Systemic therapy will help you to find a resolution and to make positive changes. It works with individuals, couple and families. It is a long or short term therapy.

We believe that by understanding these patterns, you can gain insights into your personal challenges and learn new ways to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build healthier relationships

Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy aims to help individuals explore, deconstruct, and reconstruct their personal narratives in a way that empowers them to overcome challenges and create positive change. It is particularly beneficial for individuals facing various mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. By helping individuals externalize their problems and explore alternative narratives, Narrative Therapy offers a fresh perspective, enhances self-awareness, and promotes resilience and personal growth.

NET

Narrative Exposure Therapy is a useful therapeutic approach where someone has experienced a number of different traumas over their life time. In the approach you will establish a life story line with a focus on difficult events, which are subsequently processed usings a narrative processing approach of Re-telling and narrating difficult experiences in a particular way guided by your therapist.
Net is a short term therapy.
There is also a version of NET called KIDNET which has been adapted for children. NICE (2018) recommended treatment for Complex Trauma and PTSD

CBT

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a talking therapy that can treat a wide range of issues. Its focus is to help you develop coping skills, its focus is on how thoughts and beliefs affect how we feel and how we behave. It is a process driven approach. CBT is a short term therapy, NICE (2018) recommended therapy for a range of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety related conditions, low mood and depression

Solution Focus Therapy

Solution-Focused Therapy is a goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and building upon an individual’s strengths and resources to create positive change. Rather than dwelling on problems and their causes, Solution-Focused Therapy aims to explore solutions, amplify successes, and foster a future-oriented mindset. Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a highly regarded therapeutic model that focuses on understanding and harmonizing the various inner parts of an individual’s psyche. Counselling

Is a talking therapy which allows freedom to explore and talk through current problems and associated feelings in a confidential space. It seeks to enable change/choice by reducing confusion over particular life contexts and experiences. Counselling is usually best for less complex issues, and is usually used as a first response to challenges.
Counselling is a short term therapy.

Counselling Psychology

Counselling psychology is a branch of psychology that focuses on helping individuals overcome emotional, mental, and behavioural challenges. Counselling Psychologist use a client-centred approach to facilitate self-discovery, coping strategies, and personal development. The goal of counselling psychology is to empower individuals to lead happier, healthier lives and build stronger interpersonal relationships through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Counselling Psychology is different to counselling in the level of training that has been achieved. Counselling psychologist generally have a doctorate level education.
